Everett Hare Sr is the current principal at Worthing Early College High School. Mr. Hare has 17 years of experience in education (seven as a principal). He started his career in education as a third grade teacher at Dodson Elementary School in Houston ISD. After years of success in the classroom, he served as an Instructional Specialist at Pleasantville Elementary. Mr. Hare next served as Assistant Principal for half a year and as Principal at Mamie Sue Bastian Elementary School, transforming the school from a multi-year IR campus to give consecutive years of meeting state standards and achievement with distinction designations. For the past two years, Principal Hare has led Worthing to growth in all content areas, CCMR, and expanded programs of the campus.
Mr. Hare earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Dillard University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas Southern University. He is currently working to complete his Doctoral Degree as well. Mr. Hare serves as the Past-President for HASA (Houston Association of School Administrators) and liaison leader for HAABSE (Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators) with Houston ISD. Mr. Hare also serves as Education Chairmen for the 100 Black Men of Houston Metropolitan Area. He has received several awards including the Emily Evans Scott Award for Outstanding Third Grade Teacher, HAABSE Teacher of the Year, Campus Teacher of the Year, and Principals’ Excellence in Leadership
